I was the worst of seasons, it was the best of seasons.
Considering that we limped to a 1-7 start before we jelled as a team,
our 6-8 record is pretty good. It got us into a three-way mini-playoff
with the Wild Things and Plugs, but uncharacteristically our offense let
us down (despite some defensive gems -- often our shortcoming the regular
season) 9-3. Will's son has demanded his ouster as manager so I will
be sharing the duties with some lucky volunteer next year (since I am moving
and getting married next summer, my attention span may be limited). We
will again need to do some selective recruiting. Getting enough
players was difficult for some games this year and we had some injuries,
a few losses (including the legendary Pat Carroll), and some whose family
situations my make full attendance difficult next year. Check with
me before recruiting as we don't want too huge of a flood. Especially
go after those athletic post-docs with young legs (get Dave Bishop to recruit
some). For the fall many will be playing touch football again. Call
Bob Willet (x3858) for details.
