Who can forget the film "Woodstock"? Or Pink Floyd's "Live at Pompeii"? You have? Well, despite the fleeting nature of rockumentaries, the technology that made them possible was pioneered by AT&T. It was called "Vitaphone" and it recorded music and sound effects on large, high fidelity discs that were then synchronized with the on-screen action.
